Understand the Field of Chiropractic Medicine

Research how becoming a chiropractor can help you achieve your goals and plan for lifetime career success. Learn how chiropractors are critical members of professional healthcare teams and how preventative chiropractic treatments improve lives. Whether your goal is to manage your own practice or lead within an existing practice, it will also be beneficial to gain business skills and training as part of your chiropractic education.

Earn a Bachelor's Degree or Complete 90 Credit Hours of Undergraduate Studies

The traditional path is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree backed with a science-heavy curriculum in the physical or life sciences. Courses in biology, anatomy, chemistry and physics are highly recommended.

Attend a Chiropractic College & Earn your Doctor of Chiropractic Degree

Not all chiropractic colleges and programs are alike. Choose a program based on how its requirements, program offerings, real-world learning and outcomes best match your needs.

Obtain your National & State Chiropractic Licenses

First, prepare for and pass the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) exam. Next, obtain your state chiropractic license to begin your chiropractic career. Nearly every state requires passing a state exam in addition to the NBCE.

 

Choose a Chiropractic Specialty

While not required for becoming a chiropractor, most chiropractors enjoy increased success and career satisfaction through specializing. Choose from specialties like pediatrics, sports, rehabilitation, forensic science and many more!

Campbellsville University School of Chiropractic Admissions Requirements & Pathways:

Discover how to become a chiropractic student at Campbellsville University. Explore what flexible admissions pathways fit your educational background. If you are just starting out, please know that top candidates will have a concentration in the life and physical sciences and a 3.0 GPA or higher.

To be considered for acceptance into the School of Chiropractic, students must submit the following required documents:

Upon acceptance into the program, a student will be sent instructions for completing the required criminal background check.

For candidates who have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

For candidates who have earned 90 credit hours from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree must meet Campbellsville University’s undergraduate general education requirements.

90 semester hour with a 3.0 GPA or higher OR 90 semester hours with a 2.75 to 2.99 GPA & 24 hours of life and physical science.

Candidates with less than 90 credit hours can be admitted to our undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences concentration in Life Science (BS LAS LS) program. Students will earn the remaining hours needed to reach 90 credit hours or complete their bachelor's degree. They will then submit all required documents to be considered for acceptance.

Please note, if you are interested in enrolling as a 90-credit-hour student, you will need to have meet Campbellsville University's general education requirements along with a minimum of 12 upper-level (300- and 400-level) credit hours.
